'The Genetics File' - a GP resource

This resource is targeted to Victorian GPS but has information relevant for GPs throughout Australia. It has been developed in response to suggestions made by GPs who participated in a needs assessment 1 and covers those topics identified by GPs as of most relevance and interest. Production of this resource is the result of collaboration between genetic educators, GPs, specialists and support groups. Each section generally follows the format:
  • Contents/Acknowledgements
  • Key Points
  • Background Information
  • Appendices
  • Patient and Further Information
  • Where to Refer
GPs wanting a brief summary of the condition may wish to refer only to the Key Points. More detailed content is given in the Background Information.
