Artists, galleries and corporate Australia joined forces to support life-saving child health research at Art for Science.
The charity art auction brought together donated works from 48 of the country’s most prominent contemporary artists including Robert Doble, David Bromley, Bill Henson and Emily Floyd as well as Australia’s hottest early career artists including Viv Miller, Kate Just and Ash Keating.
More than 350 people attended an exclusive cocktail party at the Nellie Castan Gallery on October 24 to see the works go under the hammer, with the event raising $430,000 for Murdoch Childrens.
All funds raised goes directly to research into conditions affecting children such as diabetes, allergies, cancer, premature birth, obesity, genetic conditions and mental health problems.
A special thanks to all the artists for their generous contributions which helped us achieve this outstanding result. We also thank the galleries, especially Nellie Castan Gallery, the organising committee, sponsors, especially ANZ Private Bank, art buyers and guests.
