It was a day of music and dance when Dame Elisabeth Murdoch invited families to visit Cruden Farm on Sunday 24 February for Discovery Day. The annual event was attended by 2000 people and raised $87,000 for Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. Face painting, Dorothy the Dinosaur, SpongeBob Square Pants, Patrick Starfish & Dora the Explorer were as popular as ever, while dance workshops and DJ David Southwick were also a big hit with the kids. All money raised will go toward innovative, world class research to help prevent and treat conditions affecting children including allergy, cancer, cerebral palsy, obesity, heart disease, genetic conditions and premature birth. Thanks to the development board, Cruden Farm Project Group, volunteers and major sponsors Herald Sun and Country Road, as well as Leader Community Newspapers, ABN AMRO Morgans, Marshall White, Splitrock, Sonray, Hall & Wilcox Lawyers, Bird in Hand wines, Southern Bay Brewing Company and Genesis Fitness Club who made the day a success.
