On Sunday 17 October 2004, guests of the Development Board enjoyed a French Petanque Day at the Dominique Portet Winery. The event was an overwhelming success, thanks to the many generous sponsors and participants, and of course the hard work of Helene Canavan who organised the day. $27,000 was raised for our child health research. Dr Christian Brizard, who is originally from Paris, spoke on behalf of MCRI and the Childrens Heart Research Centre. All the guests enjoyed the superb setting, the fine food and beverages, the wonderful prizes and of course playing petanque on a beautiful sunny day.
