Genetics Education & Health Research
GENEThink
GENEThink is a resource developed for Australian senior secondary students to enhance their studies in genetics. It consists of:
- 15 activity sheets, each demonstrating essential genetic concepts within the context of family case studies. The activity sheets are supported by comprehensive teachers' notes found on the back of each sheet
- 6 reference sheets for students, as well as pointers to further resources on the internet
In addition to enriching science courses, this kit covers ethical, legal, social and health issues and introduces students to a variety of potential career paths.
This kit was developed by genetic counsellors and education staff at the Gene CRC, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and the Queensland Clinical Genetics Service.
