Bird flu vaccine trial a success
A bird flu vaccine trial, conducted by Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and the University of Melbourne, has been completed, giving promising results.
The vaccine was tested in 400 healthy adults aged 18 - 45 and the trial showed that it was well tolerated among recipients.
The vaccine will now be tested in 800 children and elderly people, who may require a stronger dose of the vaccine for protection.
