Murdoch Childrens Research Institute PhD and MD students – see MCRI Student Definition noted below - that do not receive a travel allowance as part of their scholarship, are offered travel support to a maximum of $3,000 during the period of candidature.

At the time of the travel support request, evidence is required of additional support sought from, and/or obtained from external funding sources, research group and university. A letter of recommendation from the student’s primary supervisor is also required.

An MCRI Student is one who:

  • Conducts research on the RCH Campus
  • Is a Postgraduate PhD or MD student
  • Conducts 100% of their research with and is aligned with an MCRI Research Group and Theme
  • Is primarily supervised by an MCRI staff member or honorary affiliate
  • Undertakes research aligned with the mission of the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute
