Sequenom Platform Facility

The Sequenom Platform Facility is a scientific service available for external users. The facility consists of a MALDI-ToF mass spectrometer and two Matrix liquid handlers. It provides access to instrumentation and technical assistance for performing SNP genotyping, quantitative gene expression and methylation analysis.

The Sequenom platform is housed within a NATA accredited laboratory and is operated according to ISO 15189 requirements.

User fees fund the cost of running the facility, and are set on the basis of cost recovery. Fees as of 1 November 2009 are $650.00 plus GST per run for external academic users. This covers the use of nanodispenser RS1000 and Maldi-Tof. Per run means using RS1000 and Maldi-Tof for transferring and analysing DNA on one chip. Price is on application for external non-academic users.
