Research Overview
The research of this group is involved in the following
areas:
- optimising high-frequency ventilation
- endotracheal suction and how this can be improved
- neonatal resuscitation
- neonatal ventilation
- nasal CPAP
- nasal ventilation
- total body cooling for hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy
- defining the optimal oxygen saturation for very premature
infants
The group has particular expertise in several areas:
- Conducting randomised controlled multicentre trials in neonatal
intensive care.
- Observational studies
- Clinical physiological studies
- Animal physio-pathological studies
- The group has several large NHMRC grants.
- The group has a many research collaborations with other groups
in Melbourne and research centres in Australia, New Zealand,
Canada, Europe and the USA.
