biography
A/Professor Mimi Tang is a Paediatric Allergist Immunologist and
Immunopathologist. She graduated from Medicine at The University of
Melbourne in 1986, where she also completed her PhD in 1995. She
went on to complete her Allergy and Immunology training through the
Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Royal College of
Pathologists Australasia in 1997. Mimi has received national and
international awards in recognition of her achievements in allergy
immunology research, including the prestigious Pharmacia
International Allergy Fellowship, the American Academy of Allergy
Asthma and Immunology President's Grant-in-Aid Award and the Allen
and Hanbury's Research Institute Allergy Fellowship. She is
Chairman of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and
Allergy Paediatric Committee, a member of the Australasian Society
of Clinical Immunology and Allergy Anaphylaxis Committee, the
Victorian Department of Human Services Allergy and Anaphylaxis
Working Party, the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and
Immunology Adverse Reactions to Foods Committee, and the NHMRC
Academy. Mimi previously served on the NHMRC Immunoglobulins
Advisory Committee, National Blood Authority Immunoglobulins Usage
Committee, and the Federal Government National Asthma Reference
Group. She is also on several advisory boards for industry and
patient support groups.
