iPSC Derivation Core Facility

The iPSC Derivation Core Facility offers custom non-integrating, footprint-free induced pluripotent stem cell generation from fibroblasts, peripheral blood, cord blood and isolated (fresh or frozen) peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) using Sendai virus-based reprogramming vectors.

For each cell line reprogrammed, the iPSC Derivation Core Facility provides 3 validated clones (10 vials each at passage 3-6) as standard. Specific clone/cryopreservation requirements by the researcher can be accommodated upon request. All iPSC lines generated are quality assurance tested and a standard report is provided to the researcher. Characterisation includes assessment of their pluripotency marker expression, morphology, karyotyping (SNP analysis), mycoplasma and teratoma formation (on request).


The following services are provided by the facility:

Generation of patient iPS cell lines
From fibroblast, peripheral/cord blood cells and PBMCs
iPSCs generated and cultured on mouse feeder cells, or feeder free (matrigel/E8) upon request
iPSCs supplied as QA checked clones (3 per cell line; flow cytometry for pluripotency markers, karyotyping via SNP analysis and mycoplasma tested) expanded and cryo-preserved for the user
Provision of a standard report

Blood processing and cryopreservation​

Short term storage in LN2 when requesting for generation of iPSCs

Clone derivation, maintenance, expansion for cryopreservation
MEFs or feeder free
From thawed or frozen mycoplasma tested cell lines

Training and support
One-on-one training of researchers to become competent in the handling of stem cells
Ongoing advisory and technical assistance covering all aspects of culture and differentiation

Pricing
Prices are set on the basis of cost recovery.
For the generation of iPSC lines, special rates apply for multiple samples.
