Murdoch Children's Research Institute and technology company Curve Tomorrow continue to cement themselves at the forefront of digital healthcare technology, after picking up the Best New Product award at the National iAwards.
SONNY Movement, an assessment and rehabilitation platform for children with movement disorders and brain injury, won the top honour after receiving multiple accolades in the Victorian State finals.
SONNY incorporates the latest technology trends including gesture control and gaming, allowing children to undergo assessments remotely. It also helps health professionals conduct more efficient and accurate assessments of their patients which helps inform the most appropriate rehabilitation program.
The iAwards honour homegrown innovators at the cutting edge of technology development and reward the innovations that have the potential to, or are already having a positive impact on the community. Professor Vicki Anderson, Head of Clinical Research at Murdoch Children's and George Charalambous, a Director of Curve Tomorrow accepted the award at a ceremony in Melbourne.
The Murdoch Children's and Curve Tomorrow partnership proved very successful on the night, also claiming a Merit award for the application PEERS. PEERS will be the first clinically-validated, digital assessment tool available to psychologists, educators and health professionals to assess social impairment and mental illness in children and adolescents.

SONNY Movement has also been honoured internationally after taking out first place at the Health 2.0 conference in Silicon Valley, California, the first time an Australian organisation has won the Launch! Session of the prestigious event.
