This is a momentous year for Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) because it marks 30 remarkable years of scientific discovery.

Our story began in 1986 when paediatrician Professor David Danks established the original Murdoch Institute, with the support of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch whose unparalleled generosity has enabled the Institute to improve the health and wellbeing of children all over the world.

To celebrate the Institute’s 30th Anniversary in 2016, a special rose called ‘Brilliance’ has been created as a fundraising venture to support our research.

The rose was bred by Meilland International, a French rose breeder which has been established for over 100 years.  The company have a research team dedicated to the creation of rose varieties. They are famous for breeding the world’s bestselling rose, the Peace Rose.

The Brilliance Rose has exquisite form and beauty. It will produce continuous masses of stylish brilliant white blooms. Classically pointed buds sit atop long stems makes this an ideal picking rose. Each flower is heavenly scented an alluring rose and citrus mix. This richly foliaged bush will reach a height of 1.5m. It is ideal to planting in the garden as well as in a container, individually or en masse. Brilliance by name and by nature!

Internationally renowned and celebrated Garden Designer, Paul Bangay is the Institute’s Gardening Ambassador.

The rose is a limited release brilliant white – ‘brilliant by name, brilliant by nature and will be available for sale from May 2017. If you’re interested in purchasing a rose, please enquire at your local garden centre.
