The MHS Team

The Maternal Heath Study is a research initiative of the Intergenerational Health Research Group. Our group's vision is ‘health, wellbeing and equity for mothers, fathers, children and families’ We have a particular interest in ways that health services can work to improve health outcomes for socially isolated and disadvantaged women and families.

Lead investigator

Professor Stephanie Brown is head of the Intergenerational Health Research Group at Murdoch Children's Research Institute. She is a maternal and perinatal epidemiologist with expertise in the conduct of large scale epidemiological studies, and community-based participatory approaches to research involving socially disadvantaged and ‘hard to reach’ populations.
