The Children’s Cancer Centre Tissue Bank is a world-class resource for researchers studying childhood and adolescent/young adult (AYA) cancer. The Tissue Bank is based at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH). Our Tissue Bank also includes patients with bone marrow disorders, primary immunodeficiency disease and Neurofibromatosis.
Research project
This innovative study possibly provides the greatest opportunity for finding a preventable cause of childhood cancer. It aims to examine associations between environmental exposures and the incidence of childhood cancers by pooling prospective population data from one million pregnant mothers and their babies.
Research project
The Aboriginal Families Study is a cross sectional population-based study investigating the views and experiences of mothers having an Aboriginal baby in South Australia between July 2011 and June 2013. The study aims to compare experiences and views of women attending standard models of antenatal care with those accessing care via Aboriginal Family Birthing Program services.
