Dr Shepherd is a postdoctoral research fellow within the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit at the MCRI. Daisy obtained her PhD at the University of Auckland (submitted 2019 and awarded post-oral defence in 2020) before accepting her current position in 2019. In this role, she conducts biostatistical methods research, with specific focus on modern approaches to causal inference, alongside collaborative statistical work on observational studies in child and adolescent health. Daisy also provides statistical support for the Neurodisability and Rehabilitation Group and for Generation Victoria (GenV) at the MCRI.

Before her PhD, Daisy was awarded a BSc (Hons) double majoring in Statistics and Mathematics in 2014 and a MSc in Statistics in 2015, both at the University of Auckland.
