Dr Jessica Kaufman is a Senior Research Fellow in the Vaccine Uptake Group at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, and an Honorary Fellow at The University of Melbourne and La Trobe University. She is an expert in communication and social and behavioural science related to vaccination.

Her research focuses on strategies to increase acceptance of vaccines across the lifespan. She works with the general public, healthcare workers, pregnant women and babies, children with neurodevelopmental disorders, and other diverse priority populations. With Prof Margie Danchin, she co-leads the Vaccine Champions program in Australia and the Pacific region. This community engagement and communication training program empowers community leaders to advocate for vaccination.

Jessica is the Deputy Chair of the Collaboration on Social Science and Immunisation and the co-lead of the Social Behavioural and Communication Working Group of the Australian Regional Immunisation Alliance. She is also an editor and author with the Cochrane Consumers and Communication review group, which publishes systematic reviews on health communication and participation interventions.

Jessica is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow (awarded 2023) and a Marian and E.H. Flack Trust Fellow (awarded 2022).
