Dr Belinda Phipson
Dr Belinda Phipson completed her undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and her Masters degree in Biostatistics in South Africa. She worked briefly as a Biostatistician at The Medical Research Council of South Africa before relocating to Australia in 2007 and transitioning to Bioinformatics.
She worked as a Statistical Consultant in the Bioinformatics Division at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research for two and a half years, before enrolling in a PhD at The University of Melbourne. She completed her PhD in Statistical Bioinformatics in 2013 before joining the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute Bioinformatics group as a post-doctoral researcher.
Dr Belinda Phipson is interested in developing statistical methodology and software to address problems in high through-put gene expression, methylation and microRNA data.
