Dr Nadia Davidson
Dr Nadia Davidson is a Team Leader within the Oshlack group at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. She was originally trained in Physics and Software Engineering and completed her PhD in 2011 from the University of Melbourne on the topic of Experimental Particle Physics at the Large Hadron Collider. Nadia's post-doctoral training has been within the bioinformatics group at the Murdoch since 2011.

Dr Nadia Davidson's research includes methodology development and analysis of Next generation sequencing data. She specialises in transcriptomic analysis with RNA-Seq data. Nadia is expert in methods developement and analysis when a reference genome is unavailable or a poor representation such as in non-model organisms or cancer. She has been involved in a diverse set of projects that include studying sex development in birds, to identifying genomic rearrangements in cancer. Notable contributions include the software tools corset - which enables differential expression analysis for de novo assembled transcriptomes in non-model species and JAFFA - a highly sensitive and versatile fusion finder for cancer. Recently her work has involved improving methods to detect differential transcript usage and searching for alterations to the transcriptome in cancers and in particular pediatric leukemias.
