Katherine is a paediatric speech pathologist with a particular interest in paediatric feeding disorders; and the neurodevelopmental outcomes of medically/surgically complex infants, including those born preterm. She is currently a Horizon Research Fellow with the Infant Mental Health team, and works casually as a research officer for the Speech and Language team.

Katherine completed her doctoral thesis in the area of feeding, speech, and language outcomes of very preterm birth (<30 weeks' gestational age). She has been involved in research in the areas of paediatric feeding, cleft lip and/or palate, and infant regulation; and is currently working on projects in the area of paediatric feeding, and outcomes for children who have undergone major heart surgery.
