National Child Health Day (6 October) is significant on the North American calendar and aims to raise awareness for children's health and wellbeing.

As a child health leader and Murdoch Children Research Institute (MCRI) Director of Population Health, Professor Sharon Goldfeld AM appeared on US-based news programs Fox & Friends and Fox5 Good Day New York to discuss our contributions to advancing child health globally.

Professor Goldfeld shared her insights on the National Child Health Day pillars of ‘strong bodies and minds, healthy spaces and empowered communities.’ She detailed the importance of each and how they aligned with MCRI's research priorities.

Professor Goldfeld also put a spotlight on Generation Victoria (GenV), the world's largest study of children and families. This landmark project, led by MCRI, follows 120,000 families across Victoria to better understand how the most pressing paediatric health challenges can be addressed and prevented.

While in New York, Sharon also joined US leaders from government, philanthropy, business and media at a President's Lunch hosted by the American Australian Association (AAA).
