Our story began in 1986 when paediatrician Professor David Danks established the original Murdoch Institute with the unparalleled generosity and support of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch. Since then, philanthropy has played a pivotal role in helping MCRI to become Australia’s most influential and highest-rated child health research institute and one of the top three worldwide.

For over three decades MCRI has made profound advances in diagnosis, treatments and technologies that have helped children live healthier, longer lives. But we still do not have a cure for many, and children being born today are anticipated to have shorter life spans than their parents. The answer to these big issues is research - and providing the evidence to underpin new approaches, new therapies and meaningful policy change for children.

Investment in the health and wellbeing of our children has never been more critical or much needed.

How your gift could help
