Ava Owen is a PhD student in the Reproductive Development group. Her research focuses on structural variations of the female reproductive tract, a group of congenital conditions known as Müllerian duct anomalies (MDAs). Ava uses both genomic and stem cell modelling techniques to improve understanding of MDA development and to advance regenerative medicine approaches for their treatment.

Ava graduated from Monash University in 2024 as Dux of the Graduate Diploma in Reproductive Sciences. She previously completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Anatomy and Developmental Biology and Physiology and was recognised with a Faculty of Science Dean’s List award for academic excellence.
