Dr Daryl Cheng is a consultant paediatrician and clinical informatician at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), consultant paediatrician at Monash Children’s Hospital and Head of Paediatrics, Cabrini Health – with additional clinical research and educational posts at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) and the Department of Paediatrics, University of Melbourne. Daryl has specific interests in acute care / high dependency inpatient paediatrics and travel, immunisation medicine and vaccine safety.

He is engaged in systems thinking, innovation and design work through appointments in the RCH Strategy, Quality & Improvement team, and as a digital health consultant at the Melbourne Children’s Campus Centre for Health Analytics and RCH Electronic Medical Record Team.

His public health interest spans medical lead and clinical research roles at Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) with Surveillance of Adverse Events Following Vaccination in the Community (SAEFVIC), Victoria’s vaccine safety surveillance system and also as strategy and medical lead at the Melbourne Vaccine Education Centre (MVEC).
