Prof Deanne Thompson is an internationally recognized magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) neuroscientist specialized in advanced pediatric image analysis. She leads the imaging component of 12 newborn medicine and neurodevelopment studies and is custodian of ~2000 pediatric brain MR images. Prof Thompson is also a world leader in developing infant MRI software, with a senior author role on 5 neonatal software and atlas publications. She was was appointed Professor within the Department of Paediatrics at University of Melbourne in 2021.
