Role Team Leader / Principal Research Fellow
Associate Professor Elisha Riggs leads the Refugee and Migrant Research Program within the Intergenerational Health group at Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI). She is a Senior Research Fellow at MCRI and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of General Practice at the University of Melbourne. In the CRE, Elisha is a member of the Executive Team and co-leads the trauma-informed principles and approaches priority area. Elisha is a public health researcher whose work focuses on understanding and addressing health and social inequalities in maternal and child health outcomes.

Elisha's aspirations for the CRE are to bring key health and social care partner agencies together to generate much needed evidence about what works for supporting those who have experienced trauma at an individual and community level. She also hopes the CRE will enable systems change to support the health and social care workforce to reduce worker burnout and promote resilience.

Elisha brings a passion for qualitative research, participatory and community engaged methods and a desire to enable early career researchers to build their love of research, including people from refugee backgrounds.

Associate Professor Elisha Riggs leads the Refugee and Migrant Research Program within the Intergenerational Health group at Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI).
