Elliot is a paediatric emergency medicine specialist practicing at The Royal Children’s Hospital and Team Leader of Emergency Research at Murdoch Children's Research Institute.

He undertook his medical training in Victoria, Australia and completed a fellowship in paediatric intensive care at the BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, Canada. Elliot completed a PhD through the University of Melbourne on the topic of fluid resuscitation for paediatric sepsis, and led the Australian and New Zealand arm of the PROMPT Bolus RCT. He is currently a steering group member of the Australian and New Zealand Emergency Department Airway Registry and leads the Paediatric Adaptive Sepsis Platform Trial (PASSPORT).

Elliot is also a Clinical Scientist Fellow generously funded by the Good Friday Appeal.
