Kayla completed her Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours) in 2021 at the University of Melbourne. During her qualitative research project, she worked with the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening program to explore parent support needs following the newborn hearing screening. Since 2022, Kayla has been working as a Research Assistant with the Prevention Innovation Team at Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI). Currently, Kayla conducts the qualitative work in the Australian National Childhood Hearing Health Outcomes Registry (ANCHOR) program to understand what outcomes matter to children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and their families and professionals who support them. Kayla has also been involved in setting up the inaugural Australian Childhood Deafness Research Community Advisory Group (AusChildDeafness-CAG), which aims to strengthen partnerships between families and researchers working in childhood deafness around Australia and ensure the voices of those with lived experience are being valued and heard.

Kayla completed her Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours) in 2021 at the University of Melbourne. During her qualitative research project, she worked with the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening program to explore parent support needs following the newborn hearing screening.
