Associate Professor Leo Donnan is a Melbourne-based orthopaedic surgeon and Clinical Associate Professor who has spent his career caring for children, adolescents and young adults with bone and joint conditions. He studied medicine at the University of Melbourne, completed specialist training in orthopaedic surgery, and gained early research and teaching experience in bone biology and paediatric orthopaedics in Melbourne and at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in the UK. At The Royal Children’s Hospital he has led the Orthopaedic Department and later the Division of Surgery, helping to improve access to surgery, make operating theatres safer and design better systems to follow patients through their care. His practice focuses on hip problems, limb length differences, complex deformity and bone tumours, and he also cares for adults with hip and limb conditions through VicOrtho and St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
