Lisa Waylen
Lisa Waylen
Lisa is a postdoctoral researcher in the Transcriptomics and Bioinformatics Group with an interdisciplinary background in molecular biology and computational biology, focused on understanding spatial gene regulation during embryonic development. She completed her PhD in 2023, supervised by Mirana Ramialison, investigating the formation of spatial boundaries in the lateral plate mesoderm. She specialises in using spatial transcriptomics and computational modelling approaches to answer biological questions of spatial tissue patterning, with a particular focus in early cardiac development.
Lisa also acts as the Lab and Projects Manager for the Transcriptomics and Bioinformatics Group, assisting with the operational aspects of the team, and the organisation of collaborative projects.
