Rachel O’Loughlin is an Early Career Researcher, trained in Health Economics, Health Services Research and Psychology. Currently, Rachel is a Research Fellow with the Child Health Economics Unit in the Centre for Health Policy at the University of Melbourne; Honorary Research Associate with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute; Research Fellow with Safer Care Victoria (Victorian State Government); and Co-Director of the Melbourne Academic Centre for Health (MACH) Health Services Research Future Leaders Fellowship Program. Rachel’s PhD examined value in children’s mental healthcare, in which she focussed on (1) measuring health-related quality of life in children with mental health conditions, and (2) understanding consumer and carer priorities in mental healthcare, to inform priority setting, improvements and evaluations of mental healthcare. She draws personal value in her work by striving to improve the quality of children’s healthcare in Australia.
