Ros is deeply passionate about building and translating innovative, evidence-based clinical research to improve the health and quality of life of 'hardly reached' populations across a range of conditions including oncology, HIV, diabetes, liver, kidney and cardiac diseases. Trained in Sociology, Ros has over 10 years of research experience in coordinating, implementing and monitoring complex qualitative health research - from exploring how different cultural models of health and illness impact clinical engagement and care, to identifying key barriers and facilitators towards the implementation of evidence-based practices in routine care. A central aspect of her research involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and engaging with diverse stakeholders including researchers, patient communities, and health professionals to enable the translation of evidence-based research into practice. As a Research Officer within the Stem Cell Ethics and Policy Group at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, Ros draws on these diverse research experiences to better understand the ethical and social considerations surrounding emerging stem cell-based technologies from the perspectives of patient populations, health professionals and other key stakeholders.
