Sahel Amoozadeh is an international PhD student at the University of Melbourne, based at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, starting from 2023. Supervised by Dr. Rhiannon Werder and Dr. Ed Stanley, her research focuses on leveraging stem cell models of the lungs to study a genetic lung disease called the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD). Sahel holds a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology from Iran University of Medical Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology. With a background in medical biotechnology, she is passionate about applying stem cell technology to uncover disease mechanisms and explore potential therapeutic strategies. Sahel thrives in collaborative research environments and is dedicated to advancing translational research in human disease.
