Dr Sarthak Gandhi is a junior doctor, researcher, and youth mental health advocate working at the intersection of clinical care, research, and policy. At the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, his work is centred on improving child and youth mental health through meaningful partnerships, system reform, and youth-led design. He has a particular interest in how we design, deliver and communicate evidence-based mental health support in ways that are youth-informed, strengths-based, and accessible.

Sarthak is currently involved in several major initiatives within the Centre for Community Child Health, including the Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS) program, where he supports research outputs aimed at strengthening mental health systems in primary schools. He also leads research exploring the implementation of the Children’s Wellbeing Continuum, with a focus on its use by educators, families, and practitioners to support a shared language, early identification and response.
