Dr Sean Wilson
Dr Sean Wilson
Details
Role
Honorary Fellow (off campus)
Research area
Stem Cell Medicine
Group
Kidney Regeneration
Sean Wilson began in the Little group in 2015 as a research assistant, before undertaking a PhD from 2019 to 2022 under the supervision of Melissa Little and Sara Howden. Sean's specialisation in transcriptomic analysis and stem cell-derived organoid derivation has led to improved understanding of existing kidney organoids and is now identifying methods to advance them as a model system of human kidneys. As such, his research focuses on the optimisation of kidney organoids to close the gap between organoids and the genuine organ system.
In September 2022, Sean relocated to Copenhagen to help establish and then work as a post-doctoral research in the partner Little group working under the reNEW institute at Copenhagen University, taking an honorary position with the Little group at MCRI.
