Professor Stuart Kinner leads a program of multi-disciplinary research on the health of marginalised and justice-involved people. His work is distinguished by methodological rigour, ethical research practice, a global health equity perspective, and meaningful research translation. He is experienced in longitudinal studies, cross-sectoral data linkage, randomised controlled trials, program and service evaluation, policy analysis, systematic review, and meta-analysis.
Stuart has produced over 350 publications (238 peer-reviewed) and attracted $37.3 million in research and consulting funds, mostly from nationally competitive schemes. He regularly presents by invitation at national and international meetings. Stuart Chairs Australia’s National Youth Justice Health Advisory Group and serves on Australia’s National Prisoner Health Information Committee, the Steering Committee for the Worldwide Prison Health Research & Engagement Network, and the Steering Group for the WHO Health in Prisons Programme.
