All PhD and graduate research applications and projects are reviewed by the Melbourne Children’s Graduate Research Committee (MCGRC), ensuring rigorous oversight and quality assurance, regardless of the student’s department or university affiliation.

Reach out to a potential supervisor to discuss project ideas and availability. -
University Application
Apply for a PhD through an affiliated university, with your research conducted at MCRI. -
Project Review
After you’ve submitted your university application, your agreed-upon project must be reviewed and approved by the Melbourne Children’s Graduate Research Committee (MCGRC). -
Secure Funding
Securing a living allowance scholarship or other funding is essential. While PhD applications are accepted year-round, scholarship deadlines vary, so plan ahead.

PhD students at MCRI are responsible for securing scholarship funding to support their living expenses during their candidature.
