Steps to get started
Leaving a gift in your Will to MCRI is easy. Simply follow the steps below:
1. Choose who to include in your Will
Your Will is a chance to remember the people and causes that mean the most to you. We also hope that after taking care of your loved ones, you’ll consider leaving a gift to MCRI. Gifts from people like you are vital so that our research can continue making life better for children in the future.
2. Choose the type of gift
There are four different types of gifts you can leave in your Will. You can give your whole estate or a percentage of it, a fixed sum of money, or leave a specific gift such as real estate. Find out more about each of these different types of bequests.
3. Seek advice
Regardless of whether you’re updating your Will or writing a new one, we recommend talking to your solicitor. It is important to get the wording correct so that your Will is legally valid and your wishes are carried out as you would like.
If you don't yet have a solicitor, you can view a list of legal professionals specialising in estate planning in your local area.
4. Let people know
Making your family and loved ones aware of your final wishes can help them understand why MCRI is important to you and ensure that your gift to us is received as you intended.
It would also be very helpful if you could let us know about your plans. That way, we can thank you for your generous contribution and keep you connected to the impact your gift will have on the future of children’s health.
