Associate Professor Sarath Ranganathan is co-director of an international collaborative research program called the Australian Respiratory Early Surveillance Team for Cystic Fibrosis (AREST CF) which aims to develop new paradigms for treatment of children with this condition.
He is also a Principal Investigator of two other major research programs (the Barwon Infant Study and the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children), aiming to evaluate factors associated with early lung development and the evolution of chronic, non-communicable respiratory disorders in childhood.
- AREST CF Studies:
- Detection of Early Lung Disease in Cystic Fibrosis
- Early Predictors and Improved Surveillance of Lung Disease in Cystic Fibrosis
- COMBAT CF: A phase 3 multi-centre randomised placebo-controlled study of azithromycin in the primary prevention of radiologically-defined bronchiectasis in infants with cystic fibrosis
- Viral Pathogenesis of Early Cystic Fibrosis Lung Disease - The Barwon Infant Study
