Michelle Tollit is a Senior Research Officer at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. She is also the Evaluation Co-ordinator at the Royal Children’s Hospital Gender Service, and holds an Honorary Senior Fellow appointment with the Department of Paediatrics, the University of Melbourne.

Michelle has taken a lead role on the Trans20 study, the first comprehensive longitudinal clinical study of trans children and adolescents in Australia. She brings over 20 years of research experience in child and adolescent health and wellbeing research working across intervention and longitudinal observational research, and has worked in trans health research since 2015.

Through her research, Michelle endeavours to better understand the health care needs of trans and gender diverse children and adolescents as well as outcomes of treatment provision to inform clinical care for trans and gender diverse young people.
