As Australia’s largest independent medical research institute dedicated to child and adolescent health, MCRI was concerned that the draft National Health & Medical Research Strategy does not explicitly mention children or adolescents.
Given the intergenerational benefits of improving health outcomes for our youngest Australians and addressing inequities early in life, our submission to Department of Health, Disability & Ageing emphasised that children must be included as a priority population. Our decades of research demonstrate why this is essential.
