You have been asked to attend a research appointment at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. The information below is a guide to how to access our site and what to expect when coming onsite.

COVID-19 requirements
As part of the Murdoch Children's and The Royal Children's Hospital’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are measures in place to ensure the continued safety of patients, families and staff.
If you or your child are a close contact or are feeling unwell and experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 on the day you are due to visit the Murdoch Children's we ask that you do not come and reschedule your visit.
When you arrive
Check-in
- Please make your way to Murdoch Children's Ground Floor Reception to begin your check-in at the Participant Screening desk.
At Murdoch Children's Participant Screening you will be asked to:
- Check-in and answer a COVID-19 screening questionnaire with our screening staff
You will be provided with:
- A mask to wear while in the Murdoch Children's and Royal Children's Hospital spaces
- A visitor pass allowing you to travel to the Melbourne Clinical Trials Centre (MCTC) on Level 4
Mask requirements
You and your child (age 8 years and older) will be required to wear a surgical mask in Murdoch Children's and Royal Children's Hospital spaces.
How to get to the Murdoch Children's
Taxi/car drop off
- The drop-off/pick-up and taxi zone is located in the circular drive outside the main entrance of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
- Please enter via the main entrance of the RCH and immediately turn right into the Murdoch Children's Reception area.
Public transport
- Tram lines can take you directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital on Flemington Road (tram stop 19), 58 tram or 59 tram.
- Please enter via the main entrance of the RCH and immediately turn right into the Murdoch Children's Reception area.
Parking
- Enter from the Car park - Gate 1 or Gate 2 on Flemington Road. There are three levels of parking B1, B2 and B3.
- Please proceed up to the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute Reception area on the ground floor of the hospital via the Yellow or Blue lifts.
- Pay stations are available on the Ground Floor, Lower Ground and by the Yellow and Blue lifts on levels B1, B2 and B3.
- Please visit a pay station before returning to your vehicle.
