Tackling global challenges starts with understanding the problem and its wider context, rather than jumping straight into a business plan or an idea for a quick fix. Through her participation in The Velocity Program, an initiative of The University of Melbourne, post-doctoral researcher Dr Abbey Eeles was awarded the Cameron Foundation Impact Prize and is heading to Oxford University in June to represent the University of Melbourne and the Melbourne Accelerator Program and participate in Map the System. This is an initiative from the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the Said Business School, University of Oxford. Participants are asked to demonstrate a deep understanding of a pressing social or environmental issue by mapping out the landscape of the current solutions and identifying missing opportunities for positive change. Dr Eeles will present on premature birth and parent and infant wellbeing.
