Our 2021 Annual Report – Celebrating 35 years of progress
It is our great pleasure to share with you the 2021 Murdoch Children’s Research Institute Annual Report. We hope you enjoy reading about the remarkable achievements that were made possible thanks to our valued supporters and partners.
Last year we celebrated 35 years since the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute was founded by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch and paediatrician Professor David Danks. The pair envisioned a world-class genetic research institute dedicated to improving children’s lives.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have upheld and amplified that vision to become the leading child health research institute in Australia, and ranked in the top three internationally.
From preconception, through infancy and into early adulthood, our ground-breaking studies now change practice, inform policy and deliver new treatments. Together with the help of our partners and supporters, we continue to ensure the children of today and tomorrow, and from all walks of life, can live healthier and more fulfilled lives.
We hope you enjoy the stories of progress and impact from 2021 in this Annual Report. From GenV – the largest and most ambitious child and parent health research project ever undertaken in Australia, to reNEW – an international collaboration which will develop new stem-cell based treatments for patients with serious health conditions.
These examples of cutting-edge research are set to reimagine a better future for children.
