Prematurity Roadmap #1: Looking After Little Lungs on Facebook Live

Together with our partners, the Life's Little Treasures Foundation, we hosted an interactive Facebook Live event on 24 July 2018 in the first of our Prematurity Roadmap series. 

This time, we were talking all about looking after little lungs with our experts, Prof Lex Doyle and Dr Brett Manley. Lex and Brett answered families' questions about respiratory care for preterm babies who are in the neonatal intensive care unit and what being born early might mean for long-term lung health after these babies go home. Breathing problems are very common for babies born preterm because they are born before their lungs are fully developed. Babies born very early often need a lot of medical support for their breathing while they are in hospital, and they may be more at risk of lung infections and asthma as they grow up.
