Our annual educational program
Each year, Biomedical Ethics research group leaders Julian Savulescu and Christopher Gyngell host an intensive educational program in applied ethics in Japan for selected early-career researchers and graduate students Additionally, MCRI hosts at least two students from Japan annually for a two-week focused research visit designed to encourage collaboration and generate publications in applied ethics.
International conference
Each year, MCRI cohosts an international applied ethics conference with the Uehiro Foundation in Japan. These events bring together leading applied ethics experts from around the world to discuss topics such as genomic screening, AI in healthcare, and regenerative medicine. By integrating diverse perspectives in these rapidly evolving fields, the conference underscores the need for continued international collaboration to ensure medical innovations align with societal values.
