Kelly FitzPatrick is an early career researcher within the Intergenerational Health Group. She completed her PhD in 2021 with the University of Melbourne, the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and the Safer Families CRE. Entitled Types and Patterns of Intimate Partner Violence and Health Outcomes for Women, her PhD explored women's experiences family violence using longitudinal cohort data from the Mother’s and Young People’s Study.

Kelly is a named CRE scholar with the Stronger Futures CRE, and a co-lead of priority area 1 - Impact of intergenerational trauma and family violence. She also has a long standing affiliation with the Safer Families CRE and is continuing this work through the Uncover project, investigating women’s experiences of physical and psychological intimate partner violence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
