Flinders District Lions Club invites you to support the Mental Health in Primary Schools Program (MHiPS) in celebration of 75 years of Lions in Australia.
MHiPS was developed to help build the capacity of Victorian primary schools to support the mental health and wellbeing of students.
Schools are an ideal platform for promoting children’s mental health, identifying early signs of mental health concerns, and supporting referrals to community-based mental health services when necessary. The project trains experienced teachers to become Mental Health Wellbeing Leaders in primary schools. The program focuses on prevention and early intervention as a more effective and cost effective strategy than attempting to treat entrenched problems later in the life.
MHiPS, is a partnership between the Centre for Community Child Health at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, Melbourne Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne, and the Victorian Department of Education and Training.
MCRI is the most influential child-health research institute in Australia and one of the top three worldwide. The team of more than 1400 talented researchers work tirelessly to tackle chronic illnesses that affect children and their families.
Together, we are changing the future of child-health and the future looks brighter for all kids who deserve a healthy, happy and fulfilled life.
Thank you for supporting Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
